Mix Colors art studio offers an art education program for the Homeschool community. If you are looking for a place to nurture your child’s creativity through the visual arts we can provide that. We aim to educate the arts in a safe setting that is non-judgmental, allows for individual exploration, and equips children with an appreciation for how art communicates a message. The classes will be taught by a former college art professor and professional artist. Please read Julia's bio on the Our Story page.
Our weekly classes run August-June for eight-week sessions. You can enroll any time if there is space in the class. There is no need to wait for the beginning of a session to enroll (we will pro-rate tuition). We offer drop-in classes as well. If there is no space in the class you want, please contact us for other options.
Each class meeting will offer group and individual instruction. This quality education setting will allow each student to develop their love of art while working at their own pace.
At the end of each session, the students will participate in an art show at the studio. Each of them will help in preparing their work to present.

Homeschool families will enjoy the studio at anytime during their session for no additional studio fee.
Each new student to the studio will receive a sketchbook to work on their art at home.
Please be on time for your class. Do not "drop off" your child early or leave them at the studio past their class time. We are not equipped to watch children that are not in a class.
Missed class /Make up class Policy
- If a student misses a class, they can attend another class if there is space available. However, there is ABSOLUTELY NO PRORATING OR REFUND for missed classes. "Missed" classes cannot be used as a "class credit" for the next session.
- To be able to make up a class the student needs to be enrolled and session tuition paid.
- To schedule a make-up class please send us an email and we will work to find a class that works with your schedule or schedule a private lesson. We will send a confirmation email within 24 hours.
No parents allowed in the classroom
We believe children should be able to enjoy and focus on their art class. For this purpose, we ask parents to wait outside the studio room until class is over to avoid disruptions. Please call us or discuss it with us if you have any concerns about this policy.
Registration is required and payment is due at the start of the first class of each session.

Two week advanced notice, before the start of the session begins, is required to receive a full refund. Cancellations made after the two week advanced notice period will be refunded less a $30 cancellation fee. Cancellations made THREE days before the session begins ARE NOT eligible for a refund.
In the event of inclement weather, the decision to open or close the studio will be made by 8am the morning of class, if bad weather start during the day we will update closing as far in advance as we can to the start of class.

If we close due to inclement weather, students can make up their classes following our make-up procedure. Mix Colors art studio does not refund or credit for classes canceled due to weather.
We also want to stress that we want everyone to use their best judgment at all times and make a personal decision for you and your family based on the roads in your area and your feeling about driving to art classes. Even though we may be open for classes, please don’t feel like you need to travel to the studio if you are questioning the trip at all. We understand and you can make-up the class. Ultimately, we want everyone to be safe.
